Hello Captain Lim,
I'm about to begin my CPL/IR course at MFA (Malaysian Flying Academy) this August.
1. What's next after my CPL/IR course?
2. Will any airline representatives come to MFA or other academy to recruit the most highly educated and top candidates? Will they be provided with further training afterwards?
I will truly appreciate your response.
Regards,
Hariz.
Dear Hariz,
As I have advised KK in the query below, flying jobs are getting hard to come by as airlines are closing their doors to private candidates. I was told that supply far exceeded demand in Malaysia and Singapore. So if you are not sponsored by any airlines, it is going to be very tough looking for a flying position.
Besides Singapore Airlines, (see here) Malaysia Airlines and Air Asia have not placed any new advertisements for cadet pilots. Perhaps they may do so in the near future.
Of course, if you are selected by the airlines, they would provide you with the full training and you have to sign a bond with them. That would not be an issue but the question is when they would open their doors again? No one can tell unless the economy improves and the global air travel picks up again.
