Becoming a Pilot

Hi Captain Lim,
About 7 years ago, I became terrified of flying over the sea... this could also be linked to my stupid but serious phobia of jelly fish.
Furthermore, I want to become a pilot when I am older - which is strange in some aspects. I am completely at ease when I am traveling over land but I get hysterical over the sea (it has occasionally brought me to tears!)
Is there anything you can say to ease my pains???
Thank you so much,
Adam
Hi Adam,
I want you to read one of my previous posting on the same subject under the Ditching category.
The airline industry considers almost every aspect of safety should a plane have the misfortune to land on water. Survivors who are inside the life boat will have access to many useful aids to ensure that they are rescued as soon as possible.
I thought most people are fearful of sharks in the sea, not so much of jelly fishes ! That is why, in the survival kits found in the life boat, shark repellents are available - not jelly fish repellants!
I am not sure if shark repellants work on jelly fishes – so the only solution is to get on board the life boat or slide raft as soon as possible !
Hope this will not stop you from becoming a pilot in the future.
Please read my answer to I have a fear of flying over the water if something should happen
