I'm currently 16 years old. I have seen people asking you before as to why their ears feel painful during the take-off and landing. But, my ears get painful only during the landing. I don't feel the pain at all during the take-off.
My ambition is to become a pilot. If I have this problem, can I still be a pilot?
I wish I can be a First Officer with Emirates!!!

Hi Jing Heng,
When you fly with a cold, you will feel the pain on your ears during the descent and landing. I also wrote about this in the Travel 3Sixty magazine. You can read about it under WHY DO I FEEL THE PRESSURE IN MY HEAD AND EARS? under 10 FAQhere.
As long as you have a cold and cannot clear your ears you are bound to feel the pain in your ears either during the take-off, climb or descent and landing.
It should not affect your ambition of becoming a pilot.
