I'm from Canada, currently in the first year of Aerospace Engineering. I have passed stage 1 and have been invited to stage 2 of the Cathay Pacific Cadet Pilot Program.
Is it better to finish my Aerospace Engineering degree first or should I just leave University and join the Cathay Pacific, despite the fact that I have three more years to finish?
Best regards
Arash
Hi Arash,
Getting into the Cathay Pacific Cadet Program is not easy and given the opportunity, that would, in my opinion, be your priority to pursue further. If accepted, you have 3 years of seniority to your next promotion in the airline!
If you think you would miss out in acquiring a University degree; that can wait as you can always do a part-time course in any discipline after you a qualified pilot.
Do not let a good opportunity bypass you for your next one may never come if you are really keen to become a pilot!
I wish you all the best!
