Bombardier Global Express at Berne, Switzerland

Greetings Captain,

My name is Hafiz and I am a pilot graduate from APFT (Asia Pacific Flight Training) with a CPL/ IR license. Unfortunately for me, currently I am unemployed.

My question is - what is your opinion of flying a private jet - for example, the Bombardier Global Express?

As we all know, the demand for pilots now is Malaysia is pretty bad and I am just wondering about flying a private jet for a private company. What is your opinion and how do I get about it?

Would they receive my applications or do they prefer ex Air Force pilots? And how is my future from then on if let's say I do get the job?

Is it easier for me to join the airlines from then onwards after flying the jet for a few years?

Your answer will be highly appreciated as I really want to know the prospects.

Thank you very much Captain.

Hafiz

Hi Hafiz,

As a new pilot graduate, if you are unable to get into the airlines now, you should take up any flying job in the market or else you will lose touch with your flying proficiency. It need not be on the jets. Any propeller plane is just as good because you want to build up your experience with flying hours.

Submit your application to any flying job that comes along giving your CV and experience. Some private air charter company would prefer to train a new pilot than, say an ex-Air Force pilot.

Regardless of where you build up your experience, every single hour you logged will be taken into consideration for your next flying job with the airlines.

So you may have equal chance of being taken in if you can prove and excel yourself in the next airline interview.

I wish you all the best!
