Pilot Career - Interviewing Process

Pilot Comedy

Dear Captain Lim,

I'm just an ordinary and young gentleman with the passion of being a commercial pilot. After quite some time of waiting, I got a feedback from Air Asia concerning the Cadet Pilot Program.

I have an assessment exam just around the corner - I was wondering if you could tell me more about the process.

What level of Mathematics, Science, Physics and I.Q questions will it be?

I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thank you and

Kind regards

Kane

A Pilot Interview Demo

Hi Kane,

Air Asia adopts a selection process slightly different from that of SIA or MAS. The stages of the recruitment are as follows:-

• Applications are screened
• Applicants are called to attend tests in the following subjects

o English
o Mathematics
o Physics
o IQ

o All topics will have 40 objective questions (60 minutes per paper)
o The level required for your preparation is ‘O’ Level/SPM. Passing mark is around 80 %. Since the competition is very stiff you should be looking for a higher score to impress the interviewing team – which means you need to have a very good knowledge of the subjects or topics concerned (hence an 'A' Level/STPM/Diploma/Degree is preferred).

• Once you clear this hurdle, you would be tested on your aptitude to be a pilot by flying on a simulator followed by an interview, medical examination and the final selection.

I wish you all the bestalt!
