I have to make a decision about whether to get on a Boeing 767 to fly to Hawaii or an Airbus A330.
I am a very nervous flyer and it is either the aging 767 or an A330-200 as I know the turbulence on this aircraft is a little more severe and turbulence totally frightens me whatever any one tells me.
I feel I have to consider the 767 because of this and also that the A330 has had some major incidents. The fact these 767 planes are so old worries me.
Please could you help me with this?
Kind Regards,
Angelle
Hi Angelle,
I would fly on the Airbus A330 due to its more-advanced third generation technology. No doubt the Airbus would be a little bumpier; the 767 would not be spared of the discomfort of turbulence if she were to fly into a patch of such weather.
Anyway, turbulence is not something to be terrified about. It is just an annoyance if you are securely fastened with your seat belts when an announcement is made regarding its encounter. I have mentioned this many times before.
Nevertheless, I would not worry if I have to fly on the Boeing 767 either. Most people are not aware that flying is very safe as long as the planes are operated by reputed airlines even though they may be old.
Have a pleasant flight!

I always ask the crew when leaving which aircraft do yuu like best. They usually answer Boeing over Air Bus. Seems most major accidents aircraft related lately have been AB. The Boeing 777 series is my favorite. Jet puddle jumpers I like Bombardier.
